...Communication between people in society is largely carried out through the mediation of such cultural systems. Morin's definition of culture not only explains the conflict between liberal arts (high culture) and popular culture in modern culture, but also explains the crisis of liberal arts culture in modern times. Liberal arts culture is highly intellectual and is nothing more than the possession of the intellectual code of refined taste, but because the possession of this code is linked to the monopoly of advantageous social status, ordinary people tend to be excluded from it.
