Also called a kart. A one-seater car without a body. "Go-kart" is the product name. It has a simple structure, with a two-stroke engine, wheels, and seats attached to an exposed frame, and the steering and power transmission are direct, with no gear change mechanism. It is said to have been invented by an American racing car designer in 1956, and became popular in the United States as a leisure and simple sport, before spreading to Japan. Races are held according to certain rules, such as limiting the size of the cars and stipulating the shape of the course. The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) govern international and domestic kart racing. →Automobile racing Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
