〘Noun〙 (Originally made in Kyoto) Women's sandals made of light bamboo bark and trimmed with velvet. 〘名〙 (もと京都で作ったところから) 淡竹(はちく)の皮で作り、ビロードなどで縁をとった婦人用の草履。元祿（一六八八‐一七〇四）頃流行した。※浮世草子・俗つれづれ（1695）二「浅黄緒(あさぎを)の京草履(きゃうゾウリ)にかたしは糸竹の男形はきまぜて」
