The ceremony begins with the offering of eight items (eight kinds of swords, bows, etc.) and sacred food, followed by playing the koto and singing. Next, the mikanko stands on the ukefune and strikes the ukefune ten times with a spear. Each time, the wig cotton in the box is tied (tama no o ito tying) and the box containing the Imperial robes is opened and the Imperial robes are shook in a ritual (goi wa wa wa wa wa wa wa). Next, the Yamato dance is performed, and the ritual ends with the recipient being given sake and snacks.
