This is the diary of Shingon Buddhist monk Gien, who was the 80th head priest of Daigo-ji Temple and bestowed the title of jungo (junsangu). It consists of 62 volumes and covers the period from 1596 (Keicho 1) to his death in 1626 (Kan'ei 3). It contains detailed accounts of events within Daigo-ji Temple, such as the restoration of Sanbo-in and Kodai-in temples within Daigo-ji Temple, the revival of rituals such as the Goshichinichi Mishuho, and the process of compiling the Daigo-ji Shinyoroku. It also records his relationships with Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu. A copy of the diary is in the possession of Sanbo-in Temple.
