Qiyās (English spelling)

Japanese: キヤース（英語表記）qiyās

It is one of the four principles of Islamic jurisprudence that were adopted after the death of the Prophet Muhammad to resolve new religious legal issues that arose within the Islamic community. Qiyas means analogy, and when no clear text that can be directly applied to a certain legal issue can be found in the Quran or Sunnah, it refers to resolving the immediate issue by analogy with similar cases.

預言者ムハンマドの死後，イスラム教団の内部に生じる新たな宗教法上の問題を解決するために採用された，イスラム法学上の4つの原則の一つである。キヤースとは類推という意味で，法学上のある問題に対して直接あてはめることのできる明文が，コーランやスンナのなかに見出されない場合，それに類する事例から類推して当面の問題を解決することをいう。
