Once-through boiler

A type of water tube boiler. Water is supplied to one end of a long water tube, which is heated and steam comes out of the other end. It has been widely used since the 1960s. The Benson boiler, developed in Germany, is a typical example. This structure consists of an upflow tube that flows from bottom to top, and a downflow tube that connects it to the front and back. It is mainly used as a power generation boiler. There is also a widely used small once-through boiler called a single tube boiler, which consists of a single water tube and is used in factories.

水管ボイラーの一種。長い水管の一端から給水し、この水管を加熱し他端から蒸気が出てくるようになっている。1960年以降広く使用されるようになった。ドイツで開発されたベンソンボイラーはその代表的なものである。この構造は、下方から上方に向かって流れる上昇管と、これを前後に連絡する下降管とからなっている。主として発電用ボイラーとして使用されている。また単管ボイラーといって、広く使用されている小型貫流ボイラーは、1本の水管よりなっていて、工場用に使用されている。
