…The name was coined after the provenance of Veronica with the Shroud and two other works in the Städel Institute in Frankfurt was attributed to the Abbey of Flemalle near Liège. However, most researchers today consider him to be the same person as Robert Campin, the official painter of the city of Tournai. The city's archives show that Rogelet de la Pasture (presumably Rogier van der Weyden) and Jacques Daret worked in his workshop as apprentices from 1427 to 1432. …
