Japanese: 関東軍特種演習 - かんとうぐんとくしゅえんしゅう

When Germany and the Soviet Union broke out in June 1941, the Kwantung Army conducted a large-scale military exercise called the "Kantokuen" on the Manchurian border the following month. It was a large-scale military operation under the pretext of a training exercise, with 700,000 troops, 140,000 horses, and 600 aircraft. Japan, which had signed the Japan-Soviet Neutrality Pact, cooperated with the German army in preparation for a war against the Soviet Union.
