Most peaches in Japan are white-fleshed varieties, and are primarily eaten raw, but are also used as processed ingredients for canned goods in syrup, nectar, jam, etc. Yellow-fleshed varieties, known as canned peaches, are varieties for processing (canning), but are also used for nectar, jam, etc. [Shimura Isao]
