...Agriculture includes rice and field crops, as well as dairy farming. There are many notable ruins around Chitose, even within Hokkaido. At the Shiyukubai Sankakuyama ruins, the oldest stone tools from the pre-pottery period in Hokkaido have been unearthed, at the Bibi ruins animal-shaped clay products from the late Jomon and final periods have been unearthed, and at the Usakumai ruins, a warabide sword from the post-Jomon to Satsumon period and a Hokkaido-style burial mound have been excavated. The area is beautiful with the primeval forests around Mt. Eniwa and Lake Shikotsu, and the area is included in Shikotsu-Toya National Park.
