...Later, the name Nautilus was given to an American nuclear submarine, and Columbia was chosen to name the spaceship that went to the moon, but both of these appeared in Verne's novels, and Verne often chose America as the setting for his dreams of the future. H. Gernsback, known as the father of American science fiction, founded the first science fiction magazine, Amazing Stories, in 1926, and further developed Verne's dreams and adventures, predicting various technological inventions in Ralph 124C41+ (1911), and nurturing popular writers such as E.E. Smith and J. Williamson. Then, together with E.R. Burroughs and E.
