…In 1911, he escaped the country and lived in exile in Primorsky Krai, China, and in 1921, he organized the Patriotic Old People's Association in Vladivostok. When the March 1st Independence Movement broke out in the same year, he joined the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea in Shanghai and became president of the Independent Newspaper. He also wrote The Bloody History of the Korean Independence Movement (1920), a valuable record of the March 1st Independence Movement (the Japanese translation is included in the Toyo Bunko). In 1925, he was elected the second president of the Provisional Government, but resigned in July and died of illness in Shanghai in November. …
