A town in Yufutsu County, Hokkaido. It is located to the east of Tomakomai City, and the Azuma River flows through the center of the town. The Hidaka Main Line runs through the town. It produces rice, vegetables, shiitake mushrooms, etc. The Tomakomai East Industrial Park has been developed and an oil storage base is located there. The area is 404.61 km2 .
