Intermittent boiling spring - Kanketsu Futtousen

...There are two types of geysers that gush out intermittently: the siphon type, like a full cup of water in the Taishaku Gorge in Hiroshima Prefecture, and the overflow type, which overflows from a cave. Geysers that gush out periodically emit a mixture of hot water and steam at boiling temperatures, and famous ones are found in Iceland, Yellowstone National Park in the United States, and the North Island of New Zealand. Japan also once had the Fukiage geyser in Onikobe, Miyagi Prefecture.
