…The Caucasus in the north, the Lake Rezaye area in the southeast, and Syria in the west became so powerful that they could rival Assyria. Fortresses were built in the conquered territories, and ruins remain at Menuakhinili on the northern foot of Mount Ararat, Erebuni and Karmil Bululu in Yerevan, and Argishtikhinili on the left bank of the Araks River. The large number of captives (slaves) captured in battles played a major role in the domestic economy and military.
