Car Nicobar [island] - Car Nicobar

...The total area is over 1,950 km2, the population is 30,433 (1981), and seven islands are uninhabited. It is divided into three archipelagoes, North, Central, and South, and the main islands are Car Nicobar Island (the administrative center of the whole archipelago), Kamorta Island, Nankauri Island, Katchar Island, and Great Nicobar Island. The archipelago is hilly, mainly composed of Tertiary strata, and the southern islands are higher in elevation.
