Carinthia - Karinthia

...A beautiful place blessed with mountains and lakes, it attracts many tourists in the summer. Its ancient name was Carinthia. In 45, this area became part of the Roman province of Noricum, and around 590, the South Slavic Slovenes arrived there. They were first ruled by the Turkish Avars, and in the 8th century, they were subject to the suzerainty of the Duke of Bavaria and then the King of the Franks.
