Calyptra - Calyptra (English spelling)

It is an organ that protects the sporophyte of moss plants, and is a modified archegonia that develops with the development of the sporophyte. In mosses, as the sporophyte grows, the upper half of the calyptra becomes a cap, which is often attached to the capsule.

コケ植物の胞子体を保護する器官で、胞子体の発達とともに、造卵器が変化したものである。蘚類(せんるい)では、胞子体の成長とともにカリプトラの上半部が蘚帽となり、蒴(さく)の上についていることが多い。
