Kameido Tenjin Shrine

A shrine located in Kameido, Koto Ward, Tokyo. Former prefectural shrine. Tenmangu ( Sugawara no Michizane ) is enshrined with Amenohohi no Mikoto. The shrine was built in 1663 (the third year of the Kanbun era). It was renamed to its current name in 1878 (the eleventh year of the Meiji era ). It is known for the Uso-kae Shinto ritual held on January 24th and 25th , as well as the wisteria flowers. Kameido Tenjin Shrine. Kameido Tenmangu Shrine. Higashisaifu Tenmangu Shrine. 東京都江東区亀戸にある神社。旧府社。天満天神（菅原道真）に天穂日命(あめのほひのみこと)を配祀。寛文三年（一六六三）社殿を創建。明治一一年（一八七八）現名に改称。一月二四・二五日の鷽(うそ)替えの神事や藤の花などで知られる。亀戸天神社。亀戸天満宮。東宰府(ひがしさいふ)天満宮。亀戸宰府天満宮。
