A one-act play by Kishida Kunio. It was published in the May 1925 issue of Bungeishunju. It was first performed the following May by the Aoitori Theatre Company at Tsukiji Little Theatre. It is a Sunday and an ordinary young couple has been married for a year. They are hopelessly bored. So they indulge in the fantasy of a luxurious trip. When they suddenly become aware of reality, they cannot help but feel a void in their hearts. "Sundays are scary." The curtain falls as if to relieve the anxiety in the couple's hearts by poking each other with paper balloons that have flown in from the house next door. Not only does it portray the delicate psychology of the man and woman through the skillful technique of dialogue, but it also creates a unique dramatic space through rich theatrical imagery. This is one of the practical works of the author's theory of theater.
