This is the diary of Jingi Michinagakami Urabe (Yoshida) family head, Jingi Daifukane Uhyoe no Kami Juni Kaneyu (?-1573). With the inclusion of fragments, it is a lengthy diary that begins on October 9, 1532 (Tenbun 1) and ends on March 23, 1572 (Genki 3). Not only does it provide insight into the trends in the Imperial Court and the religious world, especially the Shinto world, from the end of the Muromachi period to the beginning of the Warring States period, but it also describes the conditions in the provinces such as Iga and Echizen where Kaneyu visited. The handwritten original is held at Tenri Library and other institutions. [Kurushima Noriko] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
