(3) Crypt tonsillitis: when inflammation becomes more severe, plugs and pus accumulate in the numerous crypts of the tonsils, forming yellow-white spots corresponding to the crypts, which then fuse together to form a pseudomembrane. It can be cured by administering strong antibiotics or washing away the dirt that has accumulated in the crypts, but in cases of frequent recurring habitual angina, the tonsils should be removed. (4) Ulcerative or parenchymal tonsillitis: inflammation affects the entire tonsillar parenchyma, and the symptoms are the most severe. …
