A town in the Kawazu River basin in the eastern part of the Izu Peninsula, Kamo District, Shizuoka Prefecture. Blessed with hot springs at Imaihama, Kawazuhama, Yatsu, Mine, and Yugano, and with beautiful scenery, it is collectively known as the Kawazu Onsenkyo hot spring resort. The Izu Kyuko line runs through the town. Flowers (persimmons), mandarin oranges, wasabi, and shiitake mushrooms are cultivated using the heat from the hot springs. Area: 100.69 km2 .
