〘Noun〙 In the Edo period, when the plaintiff and defendant reached a settlement in a Kanekuji case involving debts, accounts receivable, etc., the plaintiff only had to appear in court and report the settlement, and the matter was officially resolved. Unlike in a Honkuji case, which required the appearance of both the plaintiff and defendant, in the case of Kanekuji , the appearance of only one party (the plaintiff) was sufficient. Katasumikuchikuji is a one-sided settlement. Source: The Selected Edition of the Japanese Language Dictionary About the Selected Edition of the Japanese Language Dictionary Information |
