Withered tail flower - Kareobana
A collection of haiku poems. A collection of poems in memory of Basho, compiled by Kikaku. Published in 1694 (Genroku 7). 2 volumes. The first volume contains Kikaku's "Record of the End of Basho's Life," and a hundred haiku poems in memory of Basho performed at Gichu-ji Temple on October 18, Genroku 7, by Kikaku and his associates from Otsu, Zeze, Kyoto, Osaka, and Iga, with the opening verse "A dead body hidden in a hat, a withered pampas grass," as well as memorial poems by people from the above-mentioned provinces. The second volume contains Ransetsu's grave visit letter, four volumes of memorial poems by Ransetsu, Sugikaze, Koshun, and others in Edo, a hundred poems in memory of the first month of his death at Maruyama Ryoami-tei, and a memorial poem on the 6th and 7th days of his death at Gichu-ji Temple.

俳諧集。其角編の芭蕉追善集。1694年(元禄7)刊。2巻。上巻は其角の《芭蕉翁終焉記》,および元禄7年10月18日に義仲寺で興行された,〈なきがらを笠に隠すや枯尾花〉を発句とした其角と大津,膳所(ぜぜ),京都,大坂,伊賀の連衆による追善の俳諧百韻,それに上記諸国の人々の追悼発句から成る。下巻は嵐雪の墓参文,江戸における嵐雪,杉風(さんぷう),湖春らによる追悼歌仙4巻,丸山量阿弥亭における初月忌百韻,義仲寺における六七日追悼歌仙などを収める。
