Written by Chen Yang . Published in the Song dynasty. Volumes 1-95 explain the meanings and readings of Chinese characters found in the Three Rites, Poetry, Calligraphy, Spring and Autumn Annals, Book of Changes, Book of Filial Piety, Analects, and Mencius. Volumes 96 and onward discuss early music, including the meaning of musical rules, instruments, and movements.

[1] 〘名〙音楽に関する書籍、文献。※史記抄（1477）二〇「言は、今楽書を作るに比類して古来の楽の興衰を云ぞ」[2] 中国の音楽書。二〇〇巻。陳暘(ちんよう)著。宋代に成立。一～九五巻で、三礼、詩、書、春秋、周易、孝経、論語、孟子に見える漢字の訓と意味を説き、九六巻以下で、楽律の意味、楽器、楽章など古楽を論じた。
