Music history

A Chinese scholar and novelist in the early Northern Song dynasty. He was from Fuzhou (Jiangxi Province). He served the Southern Tang and Song dynasties, and held various positions, including Assistant Literary Officer, Governor of Lingzhou, Editor of the Three Museums, Literary Officer, and Doctor of Taichang. He wrote over a dozen books, including the massive geography book "Taiping Huanyu Ji" (Records of the Records of the Great Pilgrimage), "Li Bai Biedi" (Anthology of Li Bai), and the collection of short stories "Guangzhuo Yiji" (Records of the World Records of the Guangzhuo). He is particularly known for "Yang Taizhen Gaiden" (The Wise Biography of Yang Taizhen), which depicts the life of Yang Guifei of the Tang dynasty, and "Luv Zhuan" (The Tragedy of the Jin Dynasty's Shi Chong) and his concubine Luzhu (Luv Zhuan), which depicts the tragedy of Shi Chong of the Jin dynasty and his concubine Luzhu). He is famous as a representative work of literary style novels from the Song dynasty.

中国、北宋(ほくそう)初期の学者、小説作者。撫州(ぶしゅう)（江西省）の人。南唐、宋に仕え、著作佐郎、陵州知事、三館編修、著作郎、太常博士などを歴任した。著書には膨大な地理書である『太平寰宇記(たいへいかんうき)』200巻や『李白(りはく)別集』、小説集『広卓異記(こうたくいき)』など十数種があるが、とくに唐の楊貴妃(ようきひ)の生涯を描いた『楊太真外伝(ようたいしんがいでん)』や、晋(しん)の石崇(せきすう)とその愛妓緑珠(あいぎりょくしゅ)との悲劇を描いた『緑珠伝』は、宋代文言（文語体）小説の代表作として有名である。
