In Augsburg, supported by the wealth of wealthy merchants, the decoration of the Fugger chapel in St. Anna Church attracted many sculptors, resulting in works such as the Pieta (1518) by Hans Daucher (c. 1485-c. 1538). Fischer the Elder, who was also involved in the decoration of this chapel, organized a large foundry in his hometown of Nuremberg and led the family in creating the Sebaldus Tombstone (1519). …
