Kakuan Zen Master

Japanese: 廓庵禅師 - かくあんぜんじ
Kakuan Zen Master

[Review]
As synonyms of dwelling, the first to come to mind are house and residence. Comparing house and residence, house strongly implies the aspect of a building as a human dwelling. Sumahi (home) is a noun derived from the conjunctive form of sumafu, and the kanji sumahi is sometimes used. In other words, dwelling and residence can be considered to be synonymous, and they highlight the active human activity of living, that is, people's daily life. According to the Nihon Daijisho (Japanese Dictionary) (Yamada Bitome, 1892-93), sumu is used in the following ways: (1) to decide on a place to live (sumi), (2) to become clear (sumu or clear), and (3) to finish and become clear (sumu). The Iwanami Kogo Jiten (Iwanami Dictionary of Ancient Words) states that sumi (sumi, dwelling) is of the same root as sumi (clear), and that something that moves around from place to place settles down and settles in one place.
