It is an annual or biennial plant of the Brassicaceae family (APG classification: Brassicaceae). The stem is 30-80 cm tall, well branched, and coarsely hairy. The leaves are deeply pinnately lobed, with oblong lobes that open out. Small yellow flowers bloom from April to July. The fruits are 1.0-1.2 cm long, have sharp tips, are covered with short soft hairs, and are attached to the branches with pressure. It is an introduced plant native to Europe and Western Asia.
