Culture shock

Culture shock
It is sometimes translated as cultural shock. Culture is a value system that guides human behavior and thinking. People who belong to a society often share a common culture. Therefore, people try to understand others based on their own culture, but when they encounter a culture that is different from their own, they experience various shocks. When two cultures come into contact, the shock that is given to one or both cultures is called culture shock. The shock that the arrival of the black ships at the end of the Edo period had on the Japanese people and Japanese culture at that time is a typical example.
