Kaihoku Jakuchu
Year of death: December 17, 1st year of the Horeki era (February 1, 1752)
Year of birth: Enpo 3 (1675)
A Japanese classicist of the mid-Edo period. His name was Senno. He was commonly known as Tarumi-ya Zen'emon. He was known by the pen names Jakuchu and Senbaku. He was from Osaka. He became Keichu's pupil at the age of 16 or 17, and devoted himself to the study of the Manyoshu as a faithful and excellent pupil. His books, such as "Manyoshu Shisetsu" and "Manyoshu Ruirin", are all compilations that compile and classify the theories of his teacher Keichu, and he added his own theories only as a follower. It is here that Jakuchu's insight as a scholar can be seen. There is the family anthology "Senbaku Kashu". <References> Kumagai Takeshi, "Kaihoku Jakuchu Documentary Notes" ("Zokuzoku Kashu Kaidai Yodan" 1), Shinda Junichi, "Meikei" ("Keichu Complete Works", Volume 16, Monthly Bulletin)
