《Skeleton Dance》 - Skeleton Dance

[After Talkies]
With the invention of optical recording, sound and images could be attached together on film, and the connection between music and film became more intimate, experimental, and avant-garde. After E. Meisel (1874-1930) experimented with counterpoint between sound and images in W. Ruttmann's avant-garde film Melodies of the World (1929), and Disney's attempt to synchronize the melody of Saint-Saëns' symphonic poem Danse Macabre in the short animation Dance of the Skeletons (1929), the 1930s saw the development of works by M. Jaubert (1900-1940, including Festival de Paris, Zero School Rules, Notebook to the Ball, and Hotel du Nord), G. Auric (1899-1983), and others.
