Right to dismiss - Kaikoken

Japanese: 解雇権 - かいこけん
Right to dismiss - Kaikoken

...The purpose of workers forming unions and negotiating collectively with employers is to overcome this dependency and to put them on an equal footing with employers. Historically, labor unions have demanded employment security in addition to improvements in working conditions, with the intention of making the dependency of workers more rational by restricting the employer's right to dismiss employees, which is one of the causes of this dependency, that is, the freedom of employers to dismiss employees for any reason, regardless of whether they have a reason or not. Along with promoting autonomy through collective agreements, labor laws in each country are trying to restrict the employer's right to dismiss employees in some form, partly in order to ensure substantive equality between labor and management by eliminating unreasonable dependency under the fear of dismissal.
