Anyone who damages, removes, or defaces the flag or other national emblem of a foreign country with the intent of insulting that country will be punished if requested by that country's government (imprisonment for up to two years or a fine of up to 200,000 yen; Article 92 of the Penal Code - Damaging a Foreign National Emblem).
