...In Tokyo, it is called Kiiwashi, in Lake Hamana, Kawaiwashi, and in Owase, Mie Prefecture, Dobo. Other closely related species found along the coast of Japan include Okinawa Togoro, Mugiiwashi, and Ginisoiwashi, all of which are small fish with a body length of around 10 cm. The closely related species Grunion, found in Southern California, is known for its unique spawning habits.
