Okinaga Tomb Group

…An ancient clan based in Omi Province, Sakata County, Omi Province (present-day Omi-cho and Maibara-cho areas in Sakata County, Shiga Prefecture). The Okinaga Tomb Group, dating from the end of the 5th century to the late 6th century, is located in the Amano River basin in the same county. This area was a key location on the ancient Tosando and Hokuriku roads, and a transportation hub with Asatsuma Port on Lake Biwa.
