Daito Palace

Japanese: 大塔宮 - だいとうのみや

[1] [Noun] (The Great Tower is located on Mount Hiei and was the residence of the head priest of Tendai .) The title of the imperial family who became the head priest of Tendai. [2] The name refers to Prince Moriyoshi, the first son of Emperor Godaigo. His mother was the daughter of Gon Dainagon Minamoto no Michichika . He became a monk, took the name Son'un, and became the head priest of Tendai. During the Genkō Rebellion, he returned to secular life and took the name Moriyoshi. He cooperated with his father and became a central figure in the movement to overthrow the shogunate, but he did not get along with his father in the restoration government. He was imprisoned in Kamakura in 1334 , and the following year, he was killed by Ashikaga Tadayoshi during the Nakasendai Rebellion. 1308-1335 ( Engei 1-Kenmu 2 ). Ooto Palace.

[1] 〘名〙 (大塔は比叡山にあり、天台座主(ざす)の住居であるところからいう) 天台座主となった皇族の称号。[2] 後醍醐天皇第一皇子、護良(もりよし)親王をいう。母は権大納言源師親の女親子。落飾して尊雲と称し、天台座主となる。元弘の乱には還俗して護良と名乗り、父帝に協力して討幕運動の中心人物となるが、中興政府では父帝と相容れず、建武元年（一三三四）鎌倉に幽閉され、翌年中先代(なかせんだい)の乱に乗じて足利直義に殺された。延慶元～建武二年（一三〇八‐三五）。おおとうのみや。
