...The forewings are yellowish brown, and the hindwings are yellowish white with black bands on the outer edges. Along with the slightly larger cotton bollworm, H. armigera , this species is a well-known pest worldwide and is widely distributed in tropical Asia. In Japan, it is found on the mainland (except Hokkaido) and on remote islands, and appears from summer to autumn.
