〘Noun〙 A type of writing paper produced in the Ozu region of Ehime Prefecture. In the past, it was made from kozo (paper mulberry) and was famous for its white color, thickness, and hardness. 〘名〙 愛媛県大洲地方から産出する半紙。古くは楮(こうぞ)を用い、色白く厚くてかたいので有名。現在では、原料に三椏(みつまた)を用い、薄手のものになっている。※江戸から東京へ(1924)〈矢田挿雲〉一一「試みに紙屋に一例をとる。一、大洲半紙(オウズバンシ)上、四十八文売引下げ四十四文」
