〘Noun〙 (also "taishouko") One of the percussion instruments used in gagaku. It is larger than the tsuriganeko used in kangen music and is used in bugaku. It is about 40 centimeters in diameter and is hung from a stand with a flame on it. The performer stands and strikes it with two sticks . 〘名〙 (「たいしょうこ」とも) 雅楽の打楽器の一つ。管弦に用いる釣鉦鼓より大きく、舞楽に用いる。径四〇センチメートルほどで火焔をつけた台架に垂らす。演奏者は立ちながら二本の桴(ばち)で打つ。〔楽家録(1690)〕
