Okura Hachiemon Family

Japanese: 大蔵八右衛門家 - おおくらはちえもんけ
Okura Hachiemon Family

...The style of the play is said to be robust and similar to Noh, typical of the "Four-theater Kyogen," and the Yamamoto family still seems to be striving to maintain this style, but the Shigeyama schools have added a touch of realism, so there is no significant difference between it and the Izumi school.
[Okura Yaemon Family]
As the head of the branch family, it had its own repertoire and scripts, and formed a school of its own. Toraakira's younger brother, Kiyotora, was the first, and during the reign of the third Tokitora, he was transferred to the Kongo-za and moved to Edo. The seventh Tomitsu and others succeeded him, but the school died out during the Meiji period.
