Prince Okura - Okura Kinmochi

Japanese: 大蔵公望 - おおくらきんもち

1882-1968 A bureaucrat and politician from the Taisho to Showa periods.
Born on July 23, 1882. The third son of Okura Heizo. After working at the Railway Bureau, he joined the South Manchuria Railway in 1919, becoming a director in 1923. In 1932, he became a member of the House of Peers. He was involved in the establishment of the National Policy Research Association, and served as vice president of the East Asia Research Institute. After the war, he served as chairman of the Japan Transportation Public Corporation and chairman of the National Railways Main Line Research Association. He passed away on December 24, 1968. He was 86 years old. He was born in Tokyo and graduated from Tokyo Imperial University.

明治15年7月23日生まれ。大蔵平三の3男。鉄道院をへて,大正8年満鉄にはいり,10年理事となる。昭和7年貴族院議員。国策研究会の設立にかかわり,東亜研究所副総裁などを歴任。戦後は,日本交通公社会長,国鉄幹線調査会長をつとめた。昭和43年12月24日死去。86歳。東京出身。東京帝大卒。
