1 Paper Kamikogami Clothes made from this material. First used by monks of the Ritsu sect, it later came into general use. It is light and has excellent heat retention, and is often used to make vests and sleeveless haori. Since the early modern period, it has been used by poor people because of its low cost. Kamigino. １紙子紙かみこがみで作った衣服。律宗の僧が用いはじめ、のち一般に使用。軽くて保温性にすぐれ、胴着や袖なし羽織を作ることが多い。近世以降、安価なところから貧しい人々の間で用いられた。かみぎぬ。《季冬》「繕うて古き―を愛すかな／虚子」
