Oa - Oa

In esoteric Buddhism, it can refer to Vairocana or various Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, but in the narrow sense, the term ajari refers to the leader of the initiation ceremony and the person who has received the Transmission of the Law. The leader of the Transmission of the Law is called Daiajari or Daia, and there are professors who teach the practice. As the highest leader, an ajari is required to have 13 virtues: bodhicitta, wonderful wisdom and compassion, comprehensive arts, perfection of wisdom, mastering the three vehicles, understanding the true meaning of mantras, knowing the mind of all living beings, believing in the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, understanding the Transmission of the Law and the paintings of mandalas, being gentle in nature and free from ego-attachment, attaining determination, mastering yoga, and dwelling in the bodhicitta of courage and strength.
