A town in Itano County in the northeastern part of Tokushima Prefecture. The main settlement is Kajiyabara, which developed as a strategic location along the Muya Highway. Sugarcane has been cultivated since the Bunka era, and sugar is still a specialty product known as Awa Sanbon. The town produces rice and fruit, and also raises livestock.
