A former town in Yoro County, in the southwestern tip of Gifu Prefecture. Settlements are scattered along the Makida River basin, which separates the Yoro Mountains from the Suzuka Mountains. The town produces timber, shiitake mushrooms, and other crops. There is a colony of Rhododendrons japonica (a natural monument) in Ichinose.
