…After the Battle of Malazgird in 1071, Sulayman entered Anatolia, occupied Nicaea, and founded the Seljuk state in Rum. During the reign of Sulayman's son Qilich Arslān I (reigned 1092-1107), Nicaea was lost in an attack by the First Crusade, and the state's capital was thereafter located in Konya in central Anatolia.
