A traveler from the Yuan Dynasty in China. Born in Yuzhang (Nanchang County, Jiangxi Province). His courtesy name was Huanzhang. He traveled to the South Sea countries on merchant ships for several years from 1330, and again from 1339 to 1344. He compiled his detailed observations of the geography, customs, and products of the South Sea countries and completed his one-volume work, "A Summary of Island Barbarians," in 1331. This work is of great historical value and extremely important for research into the history of the South Seas.

中国，元代の旅行家。豫章 (江西省南昌県) の人。字は煥章。至順1 (1330) 年から数年間，次いで至元5 (39) 年頃から至正4 (44) 年頃まで再度にわたり商船で南海諸国を旅行して帰国した。その間の南海諸国の地理，風俗，物産など，つぶさに見聞したところをまとめて，同 11年『島夷誌略』 (1巻) を完成した。その史料的価値はきわめて高く，南海史研究上すこぶる重要である。
